Becoming a Cooperating
College or University
Definition of Designation
The designation "cooperating college or
university" means that the academic degree-granting institution is willing to consider using
College Credit Recommendations and now
College Credit
Recommendations (CCR) Online as a basis for assessing requests for
credit by individuals who have completed courses listed in it. It does not
mean that the college automatically awards credit for all learning
experiences described in that publication.
Cooperating colleges and universities (now numbering more than 1,500) are
included on the
list of
institutions, which is posted to our website and made available to all
of National PONSI's member organizations for their consideration as they
advise individuals about the colleges and universities willing to consider
awarding credit for their National PONSI evaluated learning experiences. It
is estimated that more than 200,000 individuals complete learning
experiences recommended for college credit each year.
There is no charge to be included on the
list of
institutions. Please fill in and submit the form below if you wish to
identify your institution to National PONSI as a cooperating college or
university. Indicate below the office and individual who should be used as
the official point of contact for communication with National PONSI and as
the initial point of contact for students who wish to discuss whether credit
will be granted at your institution for noncollegiate learning. A
printable form
is also available, which can be mailed or faxed to the Program office.
Thank you for participating
in National PONSI!
